But there are steps you can do yourself with our top tips!
A good idea is to look at each social media platform separately to see which posts work best.
Let’s focus on LinkedIn first.
Believe it or not, LinkedIn is actually older than Facebook. It was launched on May 5, 2003, a full nine months before Facebook. LinkedIn has 303 million monthly active users and 40% of users visit LinkedIn daily.
Nearly 60% of people using the social media platform are aged between 25 and 34 and 57% of users identify as male.
Set up a personal LinkedIn profile and a business page. You have got to make the connections first on your personal page before you can invite people to your business page but keep posting on both.
I personally have more success from my personal page, but we always encourage people to use their business page as it keeps it active, and it will grow.
Personal brand is huge at the minute so it’s a good idea to have a look at your own brand. Videos are a big trend at the minute so consider making videos for content as well as static posts. Think about what you enjoy interacting with on social media. Pictures of dogs always do well!
LinkedIn posts with images get two times higher engagement than posts without pictures and people are 20 times more likely to re-share a post with a video.
Personability is massive and it works really well on Instagram which relies on photos and reels.
We tend to post similar times on both pages. Our advice would be to post three times a week.
Another trend we are bound to see over the next few weeks is The Apprentice as it has returned to our screens. Everyone will be tagging The Apprentice on LinkedIn, so get commenting to get yourself included for visibility. Trends can really help get your business name out there if done right!
Have a look at your marketing strategy and look at which specific industries you want to target on LinkedIn. Whatever size your business is, it’s essential to have a presence and essential you have a strategy to target the people you want to target.
Think who are my target potential clients?
What’s the best way to connect with people?
How can I follow up with my target audience?
Facebook and Instagram are there to organically grow your business whereas LinkedIn is great for client enquiries, we receive a lot through LinkedIn from across the UK.
Should you change your posts depending on which platform you are posting on?
We don’t as Bombshell Design; we don’t change our posts on different social platforms, but it depends on what you’re posting. You will have different audiences on each social media platform. Certain videos will only do well on Facebook and Instagram.
We assess what would work for each audience. What does each audience like? Part of your strategy should be looking at what didn’t work. It’s a case of trial and error. We help our clients boost their social media presence by looking at both what does work and what doesn’t. It’s about being honest and giving feedback.
